Hanging Propeler Lamp

A hanging pendant light I assembled from a damaged prop and a safety
cage from a movie set. The prop comes from the same motor as the original Skeg lamp. It's my goal to use as many piece's from the motor as possible. Look for the carb wall sconces shortly.

The Genius of Design

If you get a chance, there is a five part  mini-series from the BBC called the Genius of Design. If you have ever wondered about the processes and history  of design I highly recommend this series. It covers everything from the arts and crafts movement, Tiger tank, to why your Bauhaus Chair is so uncomfortable.

Quote

A fine piece worked upon for days might betray your tool at the smallest mistake, and often the board seemed to split by itself. I came to believe that even a crude plank could act  with knowledge of good and evil ( and much desire to do the latter ). But then, an evil man cannot pass by a fine tree without saddening the leaves.

Still, there was wisdom to be found in doing good work. When the task went well, I was at peace.

Skeg Lamp 2.0

Someone donated another abused skeg to me. The last one was meant to a wall sconce or hung over a door. I think this is going to be a table lamp. Still looking for some glass. I stripped the paint off the first one but I like the patina on here.

Spark Plug Pendant Light

A spark plug inspired pendant light I have been prototyping. I'm still not 100% happy with it yet. I'll post more when its finished.
